Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two fairly large blowdowns, although they seem to have been addressed while I was on the summit -- myself and another hiker remarked that the blowdowns were greatly improved by the time we came across them a second time! Thanks to whoever took care of that (presumably someone from RMC?)

Comments
Comments: Well, it is April out there for sure! Fairly significant mud for the first 1.3 miles transitioned pretty much immediately to ice, so the Hillsounds went on and stayed on for the rest of the hike, till I got to about the same spot on the way back down. Snow was surprisingly firm all the way up to (and slightly past) the summit of Waumbek despite the fairly warm temperatures, so although I had my snowshoes strapped to my pack, I never found myself postholing at all and the snow never softened up on me before I finished my hike around 2pm. Honestly really ideal conditions today all things considered, especially with the weather being far more clear and sunny than predicted! Be aware it is an absolute mud-fest for the section of trail that isn't snow-covered though. Recommend footwear that can stand up to some muddy punishment.
