Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking lot (Downes Brook Trail) is plowed and has room for at least a dozen vehicles.

Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings are either bridged are not an issue. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in great shape. There are three small (handsaw), step-over blowdowns on various parts of the trail and one large (16+ inch diameter) duck-/crawl-under blowdown 0.1 miles south of the spur trail to Allen's Ledge.

Dog-Related Notes: Running water can be found in four or five creeks/streams along the way.

Comments: Quite a bit of bang for the buck on this hike -- excellent views of Mount Chocorua from the summit, as well as the eastern ledges.
