Comments
Comments: A great almost spring day hike in February! Nice temps and clear skies. Opted to use Camp Dodge cutoff to access trails.

Imp Trail is nicely packed out. There are a number of patches of ice in the upper part which today were soft enough that I could just walk over/up/down in my hillsounds with the exception of one ice bulge which is easily gotten around.

North Carter is also nicely packed out with some nice packed powder as you get higher up. Light traction is all you may need up these trails - Snowshoes just got a free ride up to the Carter Moriah Junction.

Carter Moriah heading north - there was one set of boot prints which I followed through unpacked powder to view ledge and summit, sank pretty deep in places so I opted to use my snowshoes on the way back - given trail conditions north of the North Carter Trail Junction snow shoes are a must.

Took a side trip south a couple of tenths of a mile on Carter Moriah to a small knob where you get a great panoramic view of the presidentials over the trees - trail to this point was nicely packed powder. Only met two others out today.
