Space for a half-dozen cars at the parking area on Baker Road, halfway between the trail heading west (to Route 25A) and east (to Mount Cube). Baker Road (off of Route 25A) is in very good shape -- mostly dry and clear of snow/ice. |

The one water crossing (Jacobs Brook) is not an issue. |

Trail is in decent shape, with just a handful of small blowdowns that are easily walked over/under/around. |

Plenty of running water in Jacobs Brook. |

Explored a bit of the Cross Rivendell Trail west of Baker Road -- nice trail (for reference, the trail east of Baker Road heads up Mount Cube). No one else other than deer and moose had been on this trail for a few weeks, but the few inches of unpacked icy crust was frozen/firm enough to provide support.
On the other hand, the section of trail up Mount Cube has seen much more action recently and was broken out with a thin later of icy hardpack. |
