Recently visited BBSP for the first time yesterday. It was the first time I had available to check this place out. Being about an hour away made the trip worthwhile. Although I've only seen 1 trail in the largest state park in NH, I have to say I'll be wanting to return in the summer to camp for a few nights and explore what else this park has to offer.
I went with my wife and young daughter on a Sunday to do some snowshoeing. The parling lot was virtually empty with only a few MTB riders finishing up their ride. The lot was icy and compact which made for a slick surface getting out of there and required backing up to get some speed to make it upthe hill. The trail was compacted into crusty. Snow and was a few inched deep in places. It looks like its been heavily used since the last storm. By the end of the hike, I realized I probably didn't need my snowshoes. A pair of microspikes would have been more useful. Overall, the park was bueatiful, quiet, and looked well maintained. I can't wait to go back and check out more of this place |
