Comments
Comments: followed the aqueduct loop x-c trail for a couple hundred yards until it headed north (right by small pond) and then began the bushwack. crossed another ski trail in about 50 yards and continued on my bearing towards the peak. a fresh coat of snow all the way, maybe up to an inch at times higher up. were it not for the new snow i imagine there only would have been scattered patches along the way. nice open woods down low then a bit thicker in spots up high. the acknowledged high point was quite clear. one bonus of the new coating of snow is that i was able to simply follow my tracks on the way back down.

i barebooted most of the way up, but put on microspikes in the final steeper ascent and wore them much of the way down.

this is one of those peaks i've looked at on the map for years and finally got around to hiking today. it was a nice bushwack through a mix of woods with occasional restricted views back to the presidentials (mostly in cloud today). relatively cold and even on this wooded peak the wind made its presence felt in the upper part of the bushwack. great to be out.
