|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail from South to Middle was in great shape, Trail from Middle to North was very difficult to find. Heading into the woods towards North was like a herd path, blowdowns, branches, probably hasn't been maintained in many years (reported this to AMC trail coordinator) |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Some steep sections in both directions. Probably not suitable for dogs. |

One buzzing bug the entire day! |

A beautiful day for a 10.6 mile, 3950' elevation gain hike. Ascended South, Middle, North and then came back the same way, to enjoy some extra sunshine and elevation. Trail was in good shape until we began to descend Middle towards North. We built a few cairns so we could find our way back. Blazes in this section are few and far between, if any. Ice/snow in every col. Some slick spots. 2 wore microspikes part of the way. I barebooted. Trail going up to North was like a herd path in spots, difficult to follow, with blowdowns, and narrow areas. Trees are overgrown. This section of the hike has so much potential, we will be back to do some trail work in the future. North peak is absolutely beautiful, 360 views, Presi's glistening in the sun. Great day! Thank you to Jeff, Kathy, and Michael! |
