At Lady Katherine's suggestion we went up to Welch and back via Dickey. And I will always do as she suggests henceforth. Although this isn't a 4k footer it really takes some effort to get up there even on a 99% dry-footing day. But worth the effort! You can do this in 3.5 hours at an easy pace including top-time for lunch. Views are wonderful (except for the violent flashback I got while looking at East Osceola and remembering HAVING to glassade down portions of it a few weeks ago). Welch Dickey is now a favorite but we suggest you do it either counterclockwise or just go up/back via the Dickey side. |
