The White Cross's markings are a bit difficult to follow in a couple of places, but the trail can be found if you follow your nose. Excellent work with stone steps in some tricky places on both trails. |

What a great hike! It was windy at the top and a bit cold, but the views were outstanding - downtown Boston and Mt. Washington, faintly, a great view of the Greens and Berkshires, faint view of the Whites. The White Dot was busy and challenging, as advertised. There were traces of snow in shady places above 2700' with no effect on the hike, some water here and there on the rock slabs, avoidable. Took the Cross down in order not to subject myself to the Chute on descent - it requires full attention, too, though is not so treacherous as its twin sibling. |
