| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking in the large sandy lot off Bear Mountain Road (right before Panorama Lane turns to the right). This requires a walk up Bear Mountain Road/Old Hebron Turnpike for about 0.7 miles to get to the trailhead for the Bear Mountain Trail. One can also drive up this road -- it's a bit rough for vehicles with low clearance -- and park in an open area just past the trailhead; there's room here for one or two vehicles. |

The black flies are swarming, but still slow to bite; so they were annoying but not maddening. |

| Comments: |
The Elwell Trail is well blazed with yellow paint and easy to follow. The Bear Mountain Trail is more obscure but still fairly easy to follow. Piles of dry leaves made steep sections of the Bear Mountain Trail slippery.
