| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking in the large sandy lot off Bear Mountain Road (right before Panorama Lane turns to the right). This requires a walk up Bear Mountain Road/Old Hebron Turnpike for about 0.7 miles to get to the trailhead for the Bear Mountain Trail. One can also drive up this road -- it's a bit rough for vehicles with low clearance -- and park in an open area just past the trailhead; there's room here for one or two vehicles. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Some dogs might need a boost in spots. There was some clear running water today at near the bottom. Plenty of places to get muddy too. |

| Comments: |
We we went up Bear and down Elwell which is in better shape but there didn't seem to be any marking were it crosses Old Hebron Road and we almost walked by the parking. From the bottom it seemed that Bear was the more traveled path but if you knew to enter up the road past the parking Elwell was marked well in yellow and had seen more attention. I would say the climb up Bear was more challenging than expected and if we weren't in pretty good shape it wouldn't have been all that fun. |
