Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The first water crossing was difficult, the stream was over the stepping stones for the most part.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Quite a few blowdowns on the Mt Shaw Trail althought the branches have been stripped and they could be easily stepped over. Blazing on the Mt Shaw Trail is not very good, it kind of feels like the trail is no longer maintained.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Quite a few bugs buzzing around my head but none were biting. I picked up one tick.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a maroon pullover shell near the gorge. I left it on a pillar at the trail-head.

Comments
Comments: This is a great hike (52 WAV). The views north from the summit are awful good.
