| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot at AMC Cardigan Lodge has plenty of room. Shem Valley Road is in decent shape -- a bit rutty/washboardy early on, but not too bad. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings are not a problem. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are in decent shape, especially given the amount of rain in the past week -- the portions that are normally wet after several days of rain are, well, wet. Lower ledges are wet but should dry out over the next few days. Upper ledges are dry. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Streams and creeks are running full right now -- plenty of water. |
| Bugs: |
No bugs -- but, it was early. |

| Comments: |
One trail maintenance item of note: Holt Trail just west of the Croo Bridge now has a definite herd path for 20-30 feet on the left-hand (upper) edge in an effort to avoid the typically wet section of trail there. While it may serve to keep one's boots dry for a few feet, the herd path is rapidly eroding the edge of the trail. |
