Plenty of parking at the parking lot at the base of Sawyer River Road on Rt. 302. |

A few small water crossings; easily negotiated via rocks. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple of blow downs on Signal Ridge Trail (hopped over one, walked around the other). |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
The trail to Carigain is nicely consolidated, and a hardy winter-hiking dog, who can handle the distance, would have a fine time (no hazards). |

Take advantage of our trail breaking on Carigain Notch Trail, but do not follow our route up Vose, as we descended a bit too far to the east / SE, and it was too steep to be safe. |
