Comments
Comments: Great weather and great views. Near disaster however: After summitting, Mrs Greatoz suffered a fall resulting in a broken left humerus. Many thanks to members of our party (Snapsquatch and Couch Puppy) and passing fellow hikers who helped and offered assistance. We fashioned a wilderness sling out of two shirts, a towel, a couple of nylon dog leashes brought along for just such a contingency, a safety pin found on the trail, and a stick. With these were able to immobilize the arm sufficiently to get down the Webster Cliff trail (and then the Webster branch of the W-J) in order to avoid the steep ledges at the top of the Jackson Branch of the W-J trail. This added about 1.1 miles to the trip and was slightly easier, but it was still difficult. We accomplished the self-rescue however in about a 4 hour descent.

We immediately went to the Memorial Hospital in Conway, and there she received prompt and efficient attention. Thanks to the staff there also. She is doing ok, we need to find her an appropriate trail name.....(if she feels like ever hiking again...)
