Comments
Comments: Nicely compacted trail today, compliments of all the rain on Monday. We wore either microspikes or crampons all day, carried snow shoes but never needed them. Some very icy spots past the junction of the Mt. Osceola trail. I wore crampons from a couple of tenths of a mile past the junction until the return to the junction this afternoon. The 'chimney' section is an ice flow, with just enough hand holds on the bare rock to make it doable. A little 'unnerving' up and down the chimney section describes it pretty well. Over all, the trail is in great shape for easy travel with light traction.
