Lost and Found: A pair of magenta panties were hung on a tree about a mile up the Webster Cliff trail.

Comments
Comments: Driving up to the Highland Center I could see a bunch of clouds over the southern presidentials but they pretty much dispersed by 10:00 or so. While in the forest you could here but not feel the wind aside from some breeziness. That changed when you came out on the ledges. It was right on the verge of being chilly but that was due more to evaporating sweat than the actual temp.

All the trails were in great shape with the Webster Cliff trail showing signs of recent maintenance. On one of the last ledges prior to Websters summit I met a couple taking a break. They asked where I was headed and when I said 'Jackson' they said 'Good Luck.' When I asked why they said the trail up ahead was all full of blowdowns. I thought that was kinda odd in light of the maint I saw plus the trail is part of the AT. All that said I thought maybe the storm that had gone through the night before had done something. I thanked them and continued up. When I got to the to the area they were talking I looked right (south) and saw an old trail or herd path that had branches as such across it in the standard method used to block access. I then looked left towards Websters summit and saw the trail. A case of mistaken identity....

Ate lunch at Mizpah which was packed with some medical school group. Cleaned up, got some water and trucked down to the Highland Center. Great hike on a great day.
