Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All very small. That said they was more water available for drinking then I had ever seen.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail work has been done very recently. All the blowdowns between parking lot and Isolation were cut out. It is brushy in a few spots but that just adds to the wild feel of the trail. It is never had to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A long haul but there was plenty of shade and water.
Bugs
Bugs: Not bad early but the summits were very buggy. I stopped just North of the Crawford spur on the way out and I was covered in Black Flies
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: The trail was rougher then I remember but that is probably part Irene and part Rose-colored memories. There are a few wet spots but nothing like Rocky Branch. It is maintained as a trail in a Wilderness area. Only blazes are old ones along the ledges. Signs just at the junctions and not brushed too aggressively. There are some nice campsite along the way. The views from Stairs Mountain and Mt Davis, were stellar.
