Parking/Access Road Notes: Small lot alongside 302, 2 cars when I got there, couple more when I got out, room for a few more.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings were all fine, some wet rocks to step on, but nothing major. Big washouts at a few of the crossings below the falls from Hurricane Irene, takes a little care to find trail on other side.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Major washouts from Irene, some blazing would be good at the crossings where these washouts are. One large duck-under blowdown down low on Nancy Pond Trail. One bridge (over a small stream) up high looks like a beaver tried to cut one of the planks in half.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great dog trails, plenty of water all throughout and fairly good footing trails.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies at Norcross Pond Outlet (DEET kept them at bay) and Nancy summit (DEET did nothing). Nothing an issue when moving.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful hike with a waterfall, nice ponds, and a steep herd path to the summit. Not a terribly tough hike overall, the switchbacks above the cascades were nice to see. The herd path follows the left fork near it's start, which is directly opposite of the the Norcross outlet crossing (to the right when heading up from 302). Easy to follow right to the summit, but STEEP!

Saw 4 other people on/near the summit, several others above the falls appeared to be going to the ponds on this sunny day.
