Lovely 3.4 mile section of the AT by Wentworth. Open woods and a gorgeous pond. Saw a HUGE bull moose by the side of the trail...he took his time moving on and stared at us quite a bit...he did finally amble off into the woods, but he wasn't frightened of us in the least. Also had a snake refuse to move off the trail by the site of the burnt Ore Hill Shelter. It actually hung about and slithered up to us as we sat and ate a snack. 'Twas a bit unnerving. Max thankfully showed no interest in it. All in all, we had a splendid time in the beautiful woods taking our time and admiring the scenery. Many thanks to Mynetta for her fine company! |
