I XC skied to Scaur Tr. and back. Great conditions for doing it now. Checked the river crossing for the South Slide. It has a solid ice cover and hikers have been across. North Slide trail also showed signs of use. Scaur trail well packed by barebooters, no postholes. Pine Bend Brook trail and Mt. Tripyramid well packed by snowshoers. The few icy places on the steep section can easily be done with snowshoes. Sabbady Brook trail has also been packed and I could see boot tracks from single hiker. Glad to have met Crazy Rock and Patch from Maine, who will post their hike in VFTT. |
