Comments
Comments: The Livermore trail is packed and groomed as usual. North Slide: The first river crossing is doable but we had to go upstream a few feet to comfortably cross, trail from the river crossing to the base of the slide is bare boot broken but not packed. The slide is mixed rock, snow, and ice with our route following the sections that had as much crusted snow as possible. There are some deep holes between rocks so be careful. From the intersection of Pine Bend Brook to the summit of Middle the trail is well packed out. Beyond middle to South the trail is back to a bare-booted powder with some deeper drifts. The South slide is mixed rock, snow, and ice as well but the descent is easily followed with the majority of the route being dense snow which held crampons well. The section from the base of the slide back to the Livermore trail is in good shape but not packed with just a few inches of soft powder. Few of the streams back to Livermore are fully frozen yet but all are easily crossable. The final major crossing is frozen solid.
