| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The Jackson side of the loop is in pretty desperate shape for drainage in spots. The trail is in a eroded trench in spots and there isnt anywhere for water to go. The trail has several "threads" where the actual trail bed is bypassed. |

I normally hike this loop in the winter so I dont notice drainage/erosion issues. The Webster Branch drainage seemed to be improved substantially from trips in the past but the Jackson side seems to have degraded. I expect due to the popularity of the trail is that it gets a lot of use. Unfortunately, fixing this trail will require extensive work due to the eroded treadway. The section of the AT between Webster and Jackson as in great shape. The Gray Jays at Webster are very aggressive, some folks may not like their agessiveness, unless you cover any food they will try to grab it. |
