Blue trail is not dog friendly due to the chimney that one must crawl down. I think that would be very dangerous for a dog. |

We hiked over the Giant’s head, chest and legs using the blue trail and then took the red and yellow trails back to the car. It was gorgeous on Sunday with the fresh snow. Microspikes are a must on the blue trail as there is a lot of fun, steep scrambling on the ascent. And there is a narrow, jagged chimney to manoever down. Lots of great views along the way. The tower is open but the best views are from the ledges leading to the head. This is a great park and it was a great place for a winter hike. I usually hike in the NH mountains but this park was a nice change of pace and did not disappoint. |
