Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: fr59 to access burnt hill trailhead and beyond is closed about .6 in from 125. i turned around and went in from the long trail off 125. also worth noting that rt 107 from bethel to rt 100 is one big construction area and worth avoiding during working hours. i used the road through rochester gap on the way home (bethel mountain road on rochester side and camp brook road on bethel side) and was much happier.

Comments
Comments: the long trail is in good shape and about what i would have expected in this area. some notable patches of mud at higher elevations. i headed off trail to kirby around 2950 where the west side of kirby peak starts to get steep south of the highpoint and found decent woods most of the way to the summit. i continued down to pick up the long trail farther along to the northwest and found some scrappier woods up high, but was quickly down to the trail after picking up a well defined moose path. more muddy spots and damp trail to the summit of boyce. the trail is also getting fairly grown in up on boyce. the spur trail over to silent cliff was in great shape.
this was a nice hike today. very cool woods up on kirby. not much in the way of views but from silent cliff with some limited views to nearby worth and peaks to its south along with part of monastery. one of the viewpoints at the cliff looked like it might have a view to new york on a nice day. great to out.
