| Water Crossing Notes: |
We avoided first two crossings by staying left on the logging road and keeping north of the river never climbing too steeply or going "too" left. We eventually took a road angling east down to the water beyond the 2nd crossing. Checking the crossings on the way back they looked difficult. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is in good shape aside from the slush. Snow isn't very deep so we only ever sank about a foot in the slush. |

| Comments: |
The switchbacks after the last river crossing were easy to follow. Stay north (right) of the East peak on the bushwhack and then climb near the height of the land between the two peaks before summits get eather peak. Mendon is the western peak. We summited the east peak from the south and the woods were quite thick from that direction. There is an easy heard path between the two peaks. The canister fell off the tree (good luck trying to open it). We left it in the tree with the Mendon sign. Great day hiking with John Carter. |
