Started from Lincoln Gap, drove up from Lincoln via a scenic detour due to a closed bridge just East of town. Also 1.5 miles east of the Lincoln Gap trailhead road closure blocks the route to Warren. |

The trail was in great shape. Lots of mud between Abraham and Ellen. Appreciate all the hard work by trail crews to add rock steps which helps keep the trail pristine. |

My wife and I started at 6:50am amongst clouds and fog. Summitted Abraham by 8:20am (no views). Still fogged in over Little Abe and Lincoln. Not until Ellen and South SugarBush, around 1030a, did views/windows appear, and the sun burn the clouds and fog, leaving fabulous blue skies. Different hike on the return trip with views of the Adirondacks, Lake Champlain, Camels Hump, and Mansfield. Had lunch on a small out cropping facing east, and made sure to soak in the 360 degree views a top Abraham the second time around. Back at the trailhead by 2:30p. A fun filled adventure to complete the Vermont five above 4000'. |
