From the gate, we bare booted 1.3 miles on the snowmobile packed Lincoln Gap road to the summer trail head. At the start of the Long trail, one of us opted to wear snowshoes for the stability and ascent bar and the other wore light traction. Trail was very solid. Lots of hikers out today. Some parked at the Lincoln side of Lincoln Gap road which is also closed about 1 mile before the summer trail head. Looks like the Battell trail was pretty well tracked out as well. Lots of options available to get this peak. It was a beautiful day and views on top were stunning. |
