Comments
Comments: Originally planned to hike Abraham from Lincoln Gap, but when I got to the top of the pass and saw the MASSIVE amount of cars parked at the LT crossing, I said "NOPE" and headed down the other side and hiked it via the Battell Trail. This was the way I went the first time I hiked Mt. Abraham, so I was familiar with the route and knew how to get to the trailhead. Less than 10 cars at the start, about 5-6 upon return. Only saw 6 people going up Battell and 5 going down it, but the last 0.9 mile on the Long Trail was very busy. The summit was open with sweeping views of the Greens, the Whites, and the Adirondacks, and I had fun chatting with the summit steward and fellow hikers. Great day on the trails, and I gained a new appreciation for the Battell Trail, too, if you catch my drift...
