Comments
Comments: Gradual ascent on Monroe Trail. Gets rockier between Dean Trail and Alpine Trail junctions, but nothing difficult. Some streams on the way and a waterfall. Otherwise, dry trail. Took the 0.5 mile Alpine Trail west with a visit to the 1944 B-27J Bomber plane-crash site on the way. A fun rocky ascent around Camel's Hump cone and over summit via the Long Trail. Said "Hi" to GMC caretaker and thanked her for great work the Green Mtn Club does. Hazy but with spectacular views; light wind but warm. Lots of people hiking up from the Hut Clearing as we descended. Took Monroe Trail back down.
