Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Room for about 6-7 cars if squeezed. Rd 59 is gravel, for 3.6 miles to the trailhead. Go slow - it's popular for cyclists and runners. The meadow nearby is protected, and a great place to try to view wildlife at dawn/dusk.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Terrific
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There were only 2 blowdowns to note; certain parts of the trail are beginning to become overgrown with evergreens up on the ridges, surprising due to the amount of LT thru-hikers.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only one pup, down low, Suki, who was loving being out in the camp.
Bugs
Bugs: Seemingly more bugs at the summit of Bread Loaf than anywhere else. Bring some deet.

Comments
Comments: Apparently there's been a rash of partying and break-ins at this wilderness area lately. We observed a large black truck pulling in around dusk and they subsequently left upon seeing the tents set up. Lock your cars. The sheriff was also patrolling in the AM. Our camping neighbor said she had to clean up the campsite from a pile of broken glass and empty cans to even see her fire ring. A shame for such a pretty & accessible area. There is free camping here for about 5 tents, but be prepared to share sites. Water is not far up the trail.
