Lost and Found: I left my compass on top of the bbq grill on the south peak. It is my back-up one but will gladly pay postage for its return should anyone find it.

Comments
Comments: This hike is a grind. Hiking up and down steep, rough logging roads isn't exactly fun. I followed the directions in the 2006 edition of GMC's Vermont Day Hike Guide and they were quite accurate. I did both summits, but then realized that for the NEHH you can skip the south summit if you want, as the trail to and from it just loops back to the same snowmobile trail that leads to the north summit. The south summit does have the only view though- a limited but nice one to the north. The Dorset Memorial Pitcher is still in place on the north summit, along with the register, although it is a bit the worse for wear(no bottom). The register really needs a new notebook, as I had to write my info on the back cover it was so full. Saw only one other hiker all day.
