Comments
Comments: For most of the way the Warbler Trail is a service road after which it darts up a ski trail for maybe 200 yards then turns into a man-made walkway. Though not aesthetically pleasing grades are gradual, footing is excellent and views are available at any time. The short Summit Trail is more of a traditional hiking trail - enclosed with some rocks underfoot. I'm not sure the Wildlands Trail is 'a true wilderness experience' but it too is more of a traditional hiking trail for most of it's length crossing some ski trails and with a few edu-signs along the way. On this trail the leaves are down - more so lower than higher - so it's that time of year to pay a little extra attention to footing.

I wanted to hike the ski side so as to take foliage pics along the way but this morning's clouds didn't let too much sunlight through so the great colors in this area were mostly muted - though much better in person. To avoid the crowds I tried to get an early start and was rewarded be having the summit to myself for maybe 30 minutes when I decided to leave. I saw a few other hikers coming up as I was descending and when I got back to the base the gondola was in full operation. In all a fine way to spend a nice morning.
