It looked like the trail had been pretty well broken out up to the Lodge. After that there was faint remnants. I managed to stay in the proper lane and came out at the sign. The up was not to bad, the Hilary step on the chin has filled in. There is a distinct ridge that you can follow to almost the top. Went to the brass marker and when I turned around to face the wind the difficulty went up significantly. I waved to a skier that had somehow some up some of the chutes and with limited visibility was able to get back down to the ridge and finally the cutoff to go back to the lodge. Flagging would have helped. Note to self get some flagging before going up to Baxter this month. Way down was fast and soft. The hiking and skiing trails co-mingle. It is easy to get off the LT. |
