 | Comments: |
Snowshoes got a free ride on this hike. They could have been worn, but with a ton of traffic over the holiday weekend, the trail was a well-packed sidewalk all the way up to the summit. Light traction was perfect, though down low in the bright sun minor snow balling occurred. Snow depth ranged from a couple inches at the trailhead to maybe a foot at the clearing below the summit. As with Mansfield in the morning, the weather was spectacular and we had long-ranging views. We think we even saw the Saddlebacks all the way over in Rangeley, Maine. Hard to beat weather like this day in the winter. |
