| Comments: |
Hoped to get Ellen and Abraham but issues at both ski trails with hiking when the lifts were running was not allowed had us go to plan C and parked at Lincoln Gap. You need an uphill permit from Sugarbush which you can get online and to be off the ski trail when the lifts start. Lincoln Gap Adds some milage and some elevation and time to get to the Long Trail.
The trail was packed but had 3-6 inches of new powder to break. Snowshoes were the right call, crampons would be overkill. One minor stretch near the summit needed caution. The Batell trail was broken and we saw two groups that had just come from the base. Nice hike to get to the shelter, some steep ledges near the summit but the views were worth it. |
