|Date of Hike:
||Sunday, February 5, 2017|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Easy access of rt. 114, plenty of room for several cars
||Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Several small crossings, mostly covered by snow and ice |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Several blow downs, but easy to go around. Trail difficult to follow in sections due to few blazes or flagging above 2500 ft. Snow and ice on trees blocking trail. |
||snow depth made it challenging for our dogs Reuben and Brady, but they made the summit.
Depth of snow was challenging for our dogs, Reuben and Brady, but they made it. Plenty of open water at beginning of trail.
|Lost and Found:
||Trail well marked and blazed, but past yard snowmobile trails and Sweet Tree operations, trail becomes increasingly difficult to follow. Blazes are few and trail needs to be remarked. However, a very enjoyable hike in about 2 feet of fresh snow |
