Castle Rock was closed yesterday for wind hold. That meant when the snowmobile trail up ran out I was going up through a mogul field in 2-3 inches of snow/breakable crust. Got to the top about the time that management and ski patrol got to the top of the lift. One guy joked you can't sneak up the trail with this crust. But it was don't ask don't tell. Headed over to Ellen 3-6 with a breakable crust. Got pretty wet. Changed in the warming hut at Castle rock and talked to the ski patrolman who turned out to know me from work. Got changed and headed over to Abe. Was luck to find a party of 4 breaking the way over from Abraham just down from the top of paradise lift. Did my over and back and then did a low profile ex-fil through the paradise glades. |
