Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: we parked on corporation road in pittsfield in a nice big pulloff just north of the mountain road and south of the rochester town line. mountain road is private and signed against atvs, etc., but not foot traffic. corporation road has some pretty rough spots where it passes by the last couple year round houses, but smooths out again where it parallels corporation brook. some other possible parking is available a bit farther up.

Comments
Comments: we walked up corporation road a short distance to the gated mountain road and followed it uphill to a good jumping off point for the bushwhack to corporation. the going was steep at first, but woods were nice and open. we picked up the mountains east ridgeline following it up over a lower bump before climbing to the main peak. a fair amount of spruce/fir along the upper ridge, but it was never too thick and undergrowth was minimal. the highpoint is recognized. we then followed the ridge to round in good open woods with moderate grades the whole way to the recognized highpoint. after dropping a couple hundered vertical towards east round the going got a bit more difficult with heavier fern and hobblebush undergrowth slowing things down. from the col we skirted a minor peak to its north then picked up the northwest ridge of east round. some heavy hobblebush initially then better going up to the recognized highpoint. leaving the summit we headed magnetic north down into the northern drainage of the mountain with heavy undergrowth for a few hundred vertical before picking up an old log road that stayed up fairly high on the mountains north ridge. this eventually petered out and we continued slabbing until we blended back into the ridge then quickly encountered a good road around 1700. this turned off our course in a few minutes and we then took an old skid road down to corporation road and back to the car.
