Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: i parked on wiley mountain road in stamford. i drove a short bit where the road becomes rougher and parked adjacent to a driveway up to a camp. i probably could have forced my mid clearance car up to the clearing where i started the bushwhack, but it wouldn't have been worth it to avoid the short walk.

Comments
Comments: i walked up the road to a clearing and took a line on the peak. woods were mostly open with increasing undergrowth farther up. everything was very wet today. i hit the ridge at the southern subpeak labelled as "hoosac" on the usgs where there is a small cairn and metal rod. i continued along the ridge to the highpoint with increased undergrowth and hobblebush. the highpoint is in a small stand of evergreens. took me a minute to spot the jar. descending i took a direct line down from the highpoint rather than going back over the subpeak. more wet, generally open woods back to the clearing and out to the car. on a dry day this would probably be a pleasant bushwhack.
