|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Ellen, VT|
||Jerusalem Trail, Long Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Thursday, December 28, 2017|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Drifts |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||no issues |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Several fallen trees up on the ridge (Long Trail), a couple of which required literal crawling under. |
|Lost and Found:
||Trail is well broken-out and packed all the way to the summit, save a number of drifts up on the ridge. The LT corridor is well maintained and was only tricky to follow for quick moments here and there, a few times.|
Coldest weather I've ever hiked in, -11 at the trailhead, -20 at the summit. Tried separately for Abraham in the afternoon, but turned around a mile up due to persistent chest pain, likely due to breathing in the frigid air so long (gonna have it checked just in case).
