Entire lot off Beach Road plowed since Thursday; as the Polar Plunge took place this morning. |

Blazing quite noticeable on Ridge Tr.; this was a day where one had to rely on blazes or familiarity of trail. |

Left a pair of gloves on Fire Tower stairs that I sat on while changing gear; hopefully there tomorrow. |

| Comments: |
Snowshoes except for on section heading up to the tower. Been using the Hillsound Trail Pros lately on this section as it may be the worst ice I've seen in 20+ years hiking Elmore. There is a bypass around the worst of it which would require crampons and ice axe in my opinion (haven't seen any tracks on this spot for quite some time). New snow just hiding ice currently. Broke trail in this section and then down the Ridge Tr. (18" of new snow in most spots I measured). Exhausting day definitely not close to being packed out. Catamount (road section) was smoothly packed on my way out. |
