| Comments: |
Never saw a third cairn. We may have turned around early having reached a height of land and beginning to descend after the 2nd cairn (located on a 90 degree left hand turn on steep slope). Returned to the 2nd cairn and bush whacked SW and uphill to a sub-peak on the northern side Mendon. Followed a fairly well established herd path to the Southerly Peak and eventually found the canister off somewhat obscure herd path on the right just before the established path appeared to end. Followed another well established herd path down from the Northern sub peak until it was lost. Continued BW NE and eventually came out back at cairn #2. Recommend starting at the height of land beyond cairn #2, but before the trail begins it's descent to anyone following and also confused about the location of cairn #3. It looked a bit more open and level there than at cairn #2 to begin BW. |
