Comments
Comments: It was a great hike on mostly dry trails. Muddy areas were mostly frozen. The few places with ice were easily passed and we saw no need to take out our microspikes from our packs. The only hikers we met were on the Sherburn Pass trail.

We didn't see a notice about the closure of a section along the river on the lower half of Bucklin trail. When we came to the trees and branches across the trail we immediately noticed the pink flagging of a detour up the south facing slope. It was well marked and at every turn there were two flags. Great effort by trail maintainers, thanks!

It was great to share this hike with Per and Helle. After so many hikes in NH it was nice to change the scenery.
