Comments
Comments: The Bucklin Trail re-route is a nice ridge walk. Bucklin was ice and bare ground below the re-route. We put on snowshoes upon starting up slope. Snow wet and heavy, but an established footbed made for easy going. Took the AT south from Cooper Cabin and then 'whacked a downward traverse to the ATV trail and then another 'whack across the saddle in the usual way to Mendon. Snow was 8-18" deep and wet. The usual blowdowns on the saddle. Found the herdpath and zipped to the summits. A bit confusing in the dark in the torn up Eddy Brook drainage, but we stayed right along a narrow embankment to pick up the road when it veers away from the brook. Soon became ice/minimal snow/bare ground.
