Parking lot for Vale Reservation is at end of Dale Street - the dirt road is unmarked but there is a Vale Reservation sign when you're actually in the lot. Room for a few cars. |

No issues, though many trail intersections were without trail identification. NOTE: trail entrances do not have any maps available - I took pics of online maps and had them on my phone |

Part of A.V.I.S in Andover, Mass. Really nice linear parks sandwiched between the commuter rail and the Shawsheen River. Excellent area for trail running. I got a little confused where I was (not being familiar with the area), so I'm glad I had a GPS and a picture of the trail map. Pretty level with few roots and rocks but a LOT of wet leaves. Nice views of the Shawsheen River. Glad I read about these areas in the 2009 AMC Massachusetts Trail Guide - really nice to have some guidance besides the online AVIS info!!! |
