Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: $5 per car to gain access to the NWR. There are a half-dozen parking areas over the length of Refuge Rd., which runs the six-mile length of the NWR, and two more small lots in the Mass. DCR's adjacent Sandy Point Reservation, at the south tip of Plum Island.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: It was low tide when I did the majority of my Plum Island beach-walking, and there were some shallow tidal flows to cross. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The formal trails in the National Wildlife Refuge are few and short, but interesting and well-maintained. Lots of boardwalks.

Dog-Related Notes: I saw none. Prohibited?

Comments: A natural wonderland! I'm not much of a birder, but was glad I brought my binos and had much fun studying the diverse winged wildlife.
