Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I had the place to myself, but the old dirt lot for the ski area would accommodate many vehicles.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Berlin Pass Trail has some rough, muddy sections but is in good shape, with recent vehicle tracks even. Taconic Crest Trail a breeze - great shape. The AMC Guide says the old Williams College ski trails aren't maintained, but it seemed otherwise. Very steep in places, however, slowing my pace.

Comments
Comments: Don't take either of the somewhat more obvious woods roads at the west end of the lot. The Berlin Pass Trail is a less obvious woods road that heads north from the middle of the north side of the lot, before turning west to climb to the Pass.

The glowing description of the views from Berlin Mtn., appearing even in the new (10th) Ed. of the AMC Mass. Guide, is seriously obsolete. They have largely grown in, especially to the west.
