| Comments: |
Lots of snow (almost no ice). Trail surface is very uneven due to the majority of hikers using boots only. Broken, but not well packed. Lots of postholes. Took my snowshoes out of the car yesterday but wished I had them along for this hike. Microspikes were better than nothing, but I was unfortunately adding to the existing posthole problem. Trail was not broken out past summit (i.e. South Taconic trail did not appear to be broken out up to Alander). |
