Comments
Comments: A bright sunny day for this classic central MA loop. The initial section of the Wapack was pretty beat up by bare boots and then frozen solid. Snowshoes were best along the Wapack between the state line and Nutting Hill, which has seen less foot traffic. Otherwise, light traction was fine. There were several other people out besides our group so things are in better shape now. This area is still looking wintry after the recent three feet of snowfall with high banks and snow in the trees, but after the rain and warmup this week, snow depths are fairly minimal.
